Great that you completed our walk!

Thanks for joining us for the Wangaratta Historical Walk. We hope you left with a few new stories about the streets, buildings and people that shaped this town — and maybe a reason to look twice next time you walk past one of our city’s centrepieces.

While you’re here, come and visit us in person. The Wangaratta Historical Society & Museum is housed in the beautiful 1895 fire station at 29 Ford Street, right beside the Performing Arts Centre — and entry is free.

Donate / Give

Wangaratta Historical Society Inc. has been the keeper of our region’s stories for over 65 years. Housed in our beautiful 1895 fire station home, we preserve photographs, artefacts, documents and memories that connect our community to its past — and we offer free entry to ensure that history is accessible to everyone who wants to explore it.

But free entry comes at a cost. Our annual expenses regularly exceed our income, and like most volunteer-run organisations, we depend on the generosity of our community to bridge that gap. Your donation — whatever you can give — helps us maintain our collection, improve our facilities, and continue telling Wangaratta’s story for the generations who come after us.

If this place and its history matter to you, we’d love your support.
