Our Tours

We encourage you to enjoy our regular and special tours

What was here before the building you’re standing in front of?

Most of us walk through Wangaratta’s CBD every week without knowing half the stories hiding in plain sight. This Saturday, local historian John Emmett will change that.

John’s focus this month is the earliest arrivals to the region — the settlers who came to a place then known as Ovens Crossing and built what eventually became our town. Real people, real stories, told on the streets where those stories happened.

📅 Saturday 7 June | 🕙 10:00 AM | 📍 Marmungun Rock, Apex Park

🚶 ~2km, 1.5 hours | Ends at the WHS Museum on Ford Street

Our CBD walks have been running monthly for six months now, with a different guide and focus each time — and they’ve consistently drawn a crowd of around 15 history-curious locals. If you’ve been meaning to come along, this is a great one to start with.

Stick around afterwards for a coffee with the group, or pop into the Museum while you’re there.
